Investigate Europe
Athens, Greece
I am an Athens-based journalist, born in 1971. I worked for ten years for the Greek daily Eleftherotypia. Since 2009 I have been reporting on the financial and the migration crisis for a number of international media. I collaborated in investigations with Reuters on banks, shipping and the media in Greece, and contributed reporting in the "Outlaw Ocean" New York Times series that won in 2016 the Polk award. I have field-produced six documentaries for outlets such as VRPO, ARD, ARTE and Al Jazeera, including Harald Schumann's documentary "Troika: Power without Control". Since September 2016, I work for Investigate Europe, a consortium of nine European journalists publishing with media partners across Europe. I co-produced and presented two documentaries for VICE Greece: "Lobbies without borders", based on Investigate Europe's research, on the role of the EU Commission and the defense industry lobbies in the refugee crisis. And “The German Big Brother” revealing that the German BND was spying on hundreds of Greek political and business targets. I am currently working on the launch of Reporters United, the first center for investigative journalism in Greece.
