How to convince your publisher that European stories can be sustainable?
Christophe Leclerq of EURACTIV has interviewed 30 top editors and publishers from six countries on European journalism, under the project Media4EU, in cooperation with academics and experts. This notably leads to an pilot project to exchange 'rising stars', not only journalists, between different media. [Possibly called Erasmus4media or stars4media, this project is endorsed by 12 MEPs and may be funded by the EU and/or non-profits.] In this workshop, Christophe will give a short presentation on his findings and then open for a discussion on what editors want, notably how to facilitate exchanges between like-minded media.

Funding quality journalism: Entrepreneurial, foundation supported or both?
Adessium Foundation has commissioned a study on "Financing quality journalism", which was conducted by Teun Gautier and Pieter Oostlander. The study offers a long list of possible opportunities. But what about credibility, when information is provided by one party in a case? What about editorial independence? Meet Mark Hunter – American/French former journalist turned scholar and author present the findings of his recently published a book about the subject.
