Will interest organisations pay journalism in the future? The practitioners
We've seen interest organisations using journalistic methods. We've even seen interest organisations declaring their research to be journalism. But what about credibility, when information is provided by one party in a case? What about editorial independence? Some argue that future funding for in-depth journalism will come from interest organisations. in this sessoin you meet Stefan Verwer from Oxfam Novib an interest organisation that supports journalism and Ides Debruyne from Journalismfund.eu/Fonds Pascal Decroos which offers an arm's lenght model for channelling money to journalism while protecting editorial independence. But does it work? Margo Smit, the ombudslady of the Dutch public broadcaster will be the devils advocat.
