Dataharvest EIJC17 will take place on Friday 19, Saturday 20 and Sunday morning 21 May 2017, with a pre-conference Hack Day on Thursday 18 May.

As journalists, we're obsessed with getting it right. But after two decades in data journalism, I've come to think of it differently. I want to be right -- but first I want not to be wrong. It's a semantic distinction that keeps my reporting level-headed and focussed. In this talk, I'll discuss how to grapple with uncertainties that arise during data analysis, how to describe findings more precisely, and how to turn hostile sources into a reporting asset.
